The Dyson DC17 Brushbar Motor Cover with Brush Housing DC17BrushHousingKit, is comprised of a DC17 Brush Motor Cover 911280-02, and DC17 Brush Housing Assembly 911279-02 (NOTE: Motor NOT included). Both parts are sold and shipped together for your convenience.
As a clear plastic piece, the DC17 Brush Housing Assembly allows you to see if any strings or hair become wound around the brush bar while vacuuming. If that does happen the vacuum will need to be shut off and unplugged before you free the brush bar of anything tangled around it.
Sitting on top of the DC17 Brush Housing Assembly is the DC17 Brush Motor Cover. This black cover protects the motor and wiring going to the motor from potential damage.
